Planning Your Upgrade
As your base grows, standard AE2 storage cells become inefficient. Bigger AE2 cells let you consolidate storage and free up valuable ME network slots.
Migration Steps
1. Assess your current storage needs—identify which items or fluids you store in the highest volumes.
2. Craft Quantum or Digital Singularity cells for your top 5-10 most-stored materials.
3. Create a temporary staging area with extra ME Storage Buses to hold your old cells during transition.
4. Swap old cells for new ones one at a time, moving items from standard cells into Quantum cells.
5. Repurpose freed cell slots for new storage types or remove them to reduce network complexity.
Network Optimization
- Consolidating storage reduces lag and improves ME network responsiveness.
- Bigger cells mean fewer storage buses needed, simplifying cable routing.
- Use the space saved to add more Molecular Assemblers or Crafting Accelerators.
- Keep a few standard cells as backup for emergency storage or niche items.
