Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on Better Search?
Press Alt + O in-game to open the settings menu, then enable the search boxes you want to use. Better Search is off by default for each search box, so you'll need to toggle them on individually.
Does fuzzy search work if I spell things completely wrong?
Fuzzy search catches typos and close misspellings, so minor mistakes like 'diorite' → 'diorit' will work. However, if you spell something so differently that it shares almost no letters with the real name, it may not match.
Can I search for modded items and blocks?
Yes, Better Search automatically detects and indexes items and blocks added by other mods in your world. You can search for them the same way you search for vanilla items.
Does Better Search work in the Recipe Book?
Yes, you can enable Better Search for the Recipe Book in the settings menu. This lets you find recipes even if you misspell the ingredient or result name.
