How do I craft lapis armor and tools?
Place lapis lazuli blocks and sticks in the standard crafting patterns for armor and tools on your crafting table. Each piece you craft automatically receives a random level 1 enchantment matched to that item type, so a helmet gets Protection while a pickaxe gets Efficiency.
What enchantments do lapis items start with?
Each lapis gear piece receives a different level 1 enchantment based on its type: helmets get Protection, chestplates get Protection, leggings get Protection, boots get Protection, pickaxes get Efficiency, axes get Efficiency, shovels get Efficiency, swords get Sharpness, and hoes get Fortune.
How do I use lapis gear to boost enchantments on other items?
Place the item you want to enchant in the main slot of an enchanting table, then put a matching lapis piece (same type) in the lapis slot instead of regular lapis. Select the level 30 enchantment option to roll for a higher tier of that item's specific enchantment.
Can I remove enchantments from lapis gear using a grindstone?
No, grindstones cannot disenchant lapis gear to preserve game balance. You can only rename lapis pieces on a regular anvil without losing their enchantments.
Is lapis gear as good as iron gear?
Lapis gear has slightly lower durability and damage than iron to keep it balanced as a mid-game option rather than a direct replacement. It's best used for its enchantment boosting ability rather than as your primary gear.
Can I combine two lapis items on an anvil?
No, anvil combining is disabled for lapis gear to maintain survival balance. You can only rename lapis pieces on anvils.
Do I need to match the enchantment type when boosting?
Yes, you must use a matching lapis piece type: put a 
lapis helmet in the lapis slot to boost helmet enchantments, a 
lapis pickaxe to boost pickaxe enchantments, and so on.

The enchanting boost won't work properly if the lapis piece doesn't match the item you're trying to enchant, so always use the same gear type in both slots.
Can I get multiple enchantments on lapis gear?
Lapis gear starts with one level 1 enchantment, but you can add more enchantments using the enchanting table boost method or by combining it with enchanted books on an anvil (though anvil combining with other lapis pieces is blocked).
Does this mod work with other enchanting mods?
