How to Tune Spawner Zombie Villager Rates for a Modpack or Server

Choosing a Sensible Value

The config accepts a percentage from 0% to 100%. For most survival packs, a low-to-moderate value keeps zombie villagers special while still making them obtainable from spawners. If your pack already provides other villager sources, keep the value low; if spawners are the main source, raise it. There is no single correct number — decide based on how scarce you want villagers to be.

Applying It Consistently

On a server, the config lives on the server side, so edit it there and restart the server. Clients do not need matching values for the spawn behavior, but keeping them aligned avoids confusion. For a modpack, set the value in the pack's default config so every player gets the same experience. Document the chosen value in your pack notes.

Testing and Adjusting

After changing the value, test with a spawner in a controlled area and count how many zombie villagers appear over a fixed period. If the rate feels too high or too low, adjust the percentage and retest. Remember that 0% disables the feature and 100% makes every spawner zombie a villager variant. Iterate until the rate matches your intended difficulty and economy.
