Craft and Equip Your First Backpack

Gathering Materials

Backpacks are crafted using ingots of different tiers. Start with an Iron Backpack, which requires iron ingots arranged in a specific pattern at a crafting table. Gather enough iron ore, smelt it into ingots, and prepare your crafting area.

Crafting and Equipping

1. Open your crafting table and arrange iron ingots according to the Iron Backpack recipe

2. Craft the backpack and place it in your main inventory

3. The backpack will now appear as a wearable item on your character's back

4. You can also place it in an accessory slot if your setup supports it

Accessing Your Storage

Once equipped, press B to open your backpack inventory, or open any container (chest, furnace, crafting table) and your backpack slots will display automatically alongside the container's interface. You now have immediate access to your stored items without switching screens.

Next Steps

As you progress, you can upgrade to Gold, Diamond, or Netherite backpacks for increased storage capacity. Netherite backpacks offer the added benefit of fire and lava immunity, making them ideal for Nether exploration.
