How to Set Up Xray Ultimate for Maximum Ore Visibility

Install and Enable the Pack

Place the Xray Ultimate resource pack in your resource packs folder and move it to the top of the list in Options > Resource Packs. It must be above any other pack that changes block textures, or the ore highlights will be overwritten. Once enabled, you should immediately notice that stone, dirt, and other common blocks become transparent while ores stay fully visible.

Tune Your Video Settings

For the clearest view, open Options > Video Settings and make these changes:

• Turn Smooth Lighting off. With it on, transparent blocks get soft gradients that hide the ores behind them.
• Set Graphics to Fast rather than Fancy.
• If you have Optifine installed, enable Night Vision under Details or via the Optifine menu. This removes the dark fog that otherwise obscures distant blocks.
• Lower your render distance slightly if you experience lag, since seeing through terrain loads more visible geometry.

Confirm It Is Working

Dig a short tunnel and look at the walls. You should see colored outlines or bright blocks where ores sit inside the stone. If everything still looks solid, check that no other pack is layered above Xray Ultimate and that you are not in a world with a custom resource pack forced by the server. On multiplayer servers, the pack may be rejected entirely, so test in a singleplayer world first.
