Spotting Ancient Debris in the Nether

Switch to the Nether

Travel to the Nether and navigate to Y-level 8–22, where ancient debris spawns most commonly. The pack works here too—netherrack becomes transparent while the rare ancient debris blocks stay solid and visible.

Search Methodically

Fly or walk through netherrack tunnels and caverns. Ancient debris appears as small, dark, metallic-looking blocks. Against the transparent netherrack background, they're much easier to spot than during normal mining. Scan ahead as you move.

Gather Safely

Use a diamond pickaxe or better to mine ancient debris. The transparency helps you see nearby lava pools and ghasts before they become threats. Keep your visibility clear by staying away from magma blocks and fire.

Collect Efficiently

Ancient debris is rare, so take your time searching. The pack's transparency means you won't waste time digging blindly—you'll know instantly if an ore vein is nearby.
