Finding Stalactites and Stalagmites

Caves in World of Stone Mod are filled with over 260 types of hanging and floor-based formations. These can be made from common materials like stone, but also unusual blocks like wood, wool, glass, and slime.

Harvesting Formations

1. Locate stalactites hanging from cave ceilings and stalagmites rising from floors

2. Mine them with an appropriate tool for their material (pickaxe for stone, axe for wood, etc.)

3. Collect the drops — formations break into usable blocks

4. Transport carefully — some materials like slime may have special properties when placed

Building with Formations

• Stack them vertically to create natural-looking cave pillars and columns
• Mix material types — combine stone stalactites with wood or glass ones for visual variety
• Create cave-like structures above ground by placing formations on ceilings and floors
• Use in decorative builds — the irregular shapes add organic detail to bases and structures

Custom Formations

If you want stalactites from blocks not naturally spawning as formations, check the mod's configuration file for the mimicBlocks list and add your desired blocks there.
