Find and Identify a Bird

Explore your world to locate wild birds in their natural biomes. Use your bird guide (open with E) to track species you've spotted and learn which birds are tameable. Different species have different personalities and behaviors.

Prepare Food Bags

Craft special food bags designed for taming. These bags serve dual purposes: they can tame wild birds into loyal companions and also let you pause, resume, or speed up a bird's growth stages.

Tame Your Bird

Approach a wild bird and feed it a food bag. The bird will show a heart particle effect when it accepts you. Once tamed, the bird becomes your companion and will follow you around loyally.

Care and Customization

Tamed birds retain their unique traits—gender, size, feather color, and patterns stay with them. You can keep multiple tamed birds as a personal flock.

Use additional food bags to manage your companion's growth if needed. Your bird guide will track all tamed birds you've bonded with, letting you review their individual characteristics and history.
