Set Up a Bird Breeding Station

Prepare the Location

Find a flat area in a plains or forest biome where you want birds to nest and breed. Clear any obstacles and ensure you have space for multiple nests.

Build the Attraction Setup

Craft and place a birdbath block with water nearby. This attracts wild bird flocks to your area. Place it on open ground where birds can easily access it.

Next to the birdbath, place one or more nest blocks. Wild bird pairs will use these to sleep, lay eggs, and incubate their chicks. Space nests a few blocks apart to encourage multiple pairs to settle.

Encourage Breeding

Once birds gather around your birdbath, compatible pairs will naturally form bonds and lay eggs in nearby nests. You can speed up this process by feeding birds with special food bags to manage their growth and readiness to breed.

Monitor your nests regularly. When eggs hatch, chicks will inherit genetic traits from their parents—including feather colors, patterns, and size. Each bird is unique, so you may see new mutations appear in successive generations.

Collect and Store

As birds settle and breed, they'll drop feathers. Collect these for trading with village bird researchers, or keep them as trophies of your flock's diversity.
