Breeding and Managing Animal Populations
Understand Animal Behavior and Breeding
Wild Planet Mod animals have natural behaviors tied to their real-world counterparts. Some species breed under specific conditions, while others remain solitary or form groups. Observe your placed mobs to learn their social patterns and movement habits.
Create Breeding-Friendly Conditions
To encourage population growth, provide adequate space and appropriate environmental features. Herbivores need vegetation access, while predators require open hunting grounds. Pair compatible animals carefully—not all species coexist peacefully.
Monitor Enclosure Density
Overcrowding causes stress and unnatural behavior. Space animals appropriately based on their real-world territorial needs. Larger predators require more space than small birds or amphibians.
Use Spawn Eggs for Population Control
If populations grow too large or you want to introduce new genetic variety, spawn additional animals using eggs. Conversely, remove mobs manually if an enclosure becomes overpopulated. This gives you fine-grained control over your zoo's ecosystem balance and visual presentation.
