How to See Your Own Nametag in the Inventory Screen
The core feature of this mod is that your own player nametag is rendered directly on the Inventory screen, so you always know which player you are looking at when managing items. If you installed the mod and don't see your name, work through the checks below.
Confirming the Feature Is Active
Open your Inventory with the default key (E). Look at the area around your player model in the center-left of the screen. Your nametag should appear above or near the model, styled the same way nametags appear above players in the world. If you see it, the mod is working and no configuration is needed.
If the Nametag Is Missing
- Make sure the mod is actually loaded for the profile you launched. A mod present in the folder but not enabled for that instance will not render anything.
- Check for conflicts with other HUD or inventory mods. Mods that redraw or replace the Inventory screen (inventory overhaul mods, HUD editors) can suppress custom nametag rendering because they take over the screen.
- Test on a fresh world with only this mod plus its required dependencies. If the nametag appears there, reintroduce your other mods one at a time to find the conflict.
- Verify your player actually has a name assigned in that world (singleplayer worlds always do; some server setups with nickname plugins may behave differently).
What You Should See
Once working, the nametag is purely visual and client-side. It does not change your actual username, does not affect chat, and does not appear to other players.
