Protect Your Base from Tornado Damage Using Reinforcement
Understanding Structural Vulnerability
Tornadoes and high winds destroy weak blocks like wood, leaves, and unprotected structures. Stronger materials like stone and metal resist damage better, but even these can fail under extreme conditions. Reinforcement is your primary defense against total destruction.
Using the
Reinforcement Wrench
Craft or obtain the reinforcement wrench from your mod's crafting menu. Select it and right-click on blocks you want to protect—walls, roofs, support pillars, and doors are priority targets. Reinforced blocks glow slightly and will withstand significantly more wind force than standard blocks.
Strategic Reinforcement
Focus reinforcement on exposed surfaces: your roof, outer walls, and corners where wind pressure concentrates. Reinforce door frames and window supports to keep your shelter sealed. Don't waste resources reinforcing interior walls or underground structures.
Testing Your Defenses
After reinforcing key areas, monitor incoming storms with your radar. Observe which parts of your base sustain damage during severe weather. Adjust your reinforcement strategy based on real damage patterns—you may need additional coverage on certain sides depending on storm approach direction.
