Wax Coral Blocks to Prevent Drying
How to Wax Coral
Coral blocks naturally dry out and turn into dead coral when placed outside of water. Waxing preserves them in their current state indefinitely.
Steps:
1. Obtain a honeycomb (crafted from honeycombs in beehives or from bees)
2. Hold the honeycomb in your hand
3. Approach any coral block—tube, brain, bubble, fire, or horn coral
4. Right-click the coral block
5. The coral will become waxed and display a subtle waxed appearance
What Waxing Does
Once waxed, your coral block will:
- Remain vibrant and colorful indefinitely, even outside water
- Retain its original texture and appearance
- No longer transform into dead coral over time
You can wax coral in any state—living coral, bleached coral, or even dead coral (though dead coral won't regain its color). Waxing is permanent and cannot be undone without removing the block.
