Create Your First Storage Shelf

Gather Your Materials

Collect wood planks from any vanilla wood type—oak, birch, spruce, dark oak, acacia, jungle, mangrove, or cherry all work. You'll also need sticks. Chop down a tree and process the logs in your crafting table to get what you need.

Craft the Shelf

Open your crafting table and arrange your wood planks and sticks according to the shelf recipe. The exact pattern depends on your mod version, but shelves are designed to be simple survival-mode recipes. Once crafted, you'll have a shelf block that matches your chosen wood type.

Place and Use Your Shelf

Place the shelf on the ground or against a wall in your storage area. Right-click on it to open the shelf interface. You can now place cardboard boxes on top of it. The shelf acts as a decorative storage solution that blends with your building style—choose wood types that match your base's aesthetic for a cohesive look.
