How to Fix WalksyLib Config Options That Reset or Do Not Save
Configs built on WalksyLib serialize and deserialize their data, so a value that disappears after a restart almost always means the save step was skipped or the file was overwritten.
Save Through the Config Screen
Always leave a config screen using its own save or done button. Closing with the escape key or by walking away can discard pending changes, because the library writes values when the screen confirms them, not on every click.
Avoid Editing the File While the Game Runs
WalksyLib reads and writes config data itself. If you edit the config file in a text editor while Minecraft is open, the game can overwrite your edit the next time it saves. Close the game first, make the change, then launch again.
Check for Conflicting Screens
Some mods open their own settings screen on top of the WalksyLib one. If you change a value in the outer screen and then confirm the inner screen, the outer change may be dropped. Finish and close one screen completely before opening another.
If Values Still Reset
Remove the config entry for the option you changed so the library regenerates it with defaults, then set it again through the screen. This clears any malformed value that deserialization is rejecting, which is a common cause of an option silently reverting.
