How to Configure Boolean, Numeric, String and Enum Options from WalksyLib Mods
Most WalksyLib options fall into four standard types: boolean, numeric, string, and enum. Each behaves differently in the config screen, and knowing which is which saves confusion.
Recognizing Each Type
- Boolean options appear as a toggle or checkbox. Click once to flip between on and off.
- Numeric options appear as a slider or a number field. Sliders have a fixed range set by the mod author, so you cannot push a value past either end.
- String options are free text fields. Type whatever the mod expects, such as a name or identifier.
- Enum options appear as a dropdown or a button that cycles through a fixed list of choices. You cannot type a value that is not in the list.
Editing Safely
Change one option at a time and confirm the screen updates before moving on. For numeric sliders, drag slowly near the ends if you need an exact value, or use the number field when one is provided. For strings, avoid trailing spaces, since they are stored exactly as typed and can cause a mod to fail to match what you entered.
When a Value Will Not Stick
If an enum or numeric option snaps back, you are likely outside the range or list the mod allows. Pick the nearest valid choice instead of forcing a value.
