Fixing "Vulkan Loader Not Found" and Startup Crashes

Resolve the Loader Error

The "Vulkan Loader not found" error means the mod cannot locate the Vulkan runtime on your system. This is almost always a driver or runtime installation problem, not a mod bug.

1. Update your GPU drivers to the latest version from your vendor. On Windows, use the official AMD or NVIDIA installer rather than Windows Update.

2. On Linux, install the Vulkan loader and your GPU's ICD package through your distro's package manager (names vary — look for vulkan-loader, vulkan-icd-loader, and a vendor ICD such as vulkan-radeon or nvidia-utils).

3. Re-run vulkaninfo to confirm the loader now responds.

4. Relaunch Minecraft.

If It Still Crashes

Check the crash report and latest.log for the first Vulkan-related line. Common causes include an outdated driver that only exposes Vulkan 1.1, a hybrid laptop where the integrated GPU lacks Vulkan 1.2, or a conflicting rendering mod. Try launching with only this mod plus its required dependencies to isolate conflicts. If the game crashes on world load rather than at the menu, note whether shaders or resource packs are active and disable them for a test run. When asking for help, always attach the full log, crash report, and mod list — the maintainers need the exact apiVersion and device name reported at startup.
