Create Your First Interactive NPC with Dialogue
Setting Up the NPC
Open the in-game script editor and create a new NPC entity. Use the NPC creation tools to position it in your world and assign it a 3D model (glTF, GLB, or OBJ formats work well). Name your NPC and configure its basic properties.
Building Branching Dialogue
Access the interactive dialogue system from the NPC editor. Create your first dialogue node with text the NPC will speak. Add multiple choice responses below it—each choice can branch to different dialogue paths or trigger custom scripts.
Use the integrated script editor window to attach actions to dialogue choices. For example, you might trigger a quest start, play an animation, or modify player inventory when a choice is selected.
Testing Your NPC
Save your script and interact with the NPC in-game. Click through dialogue options to verify branching works correctly. Use the code completion hints in the editor to reference NPC animations and trigger conditions. Adjust dialogue text and script logic as needed, then reload to test changes.
