Getting Started with Nuclear Reactors
Building Your First Reactor
Volatile Nuclear Ores Mod provides three multiblock reactor types, each with different purposes. The Pressurized Fission Reactor is the standard choice for steady power generation—it burns driver fuel rods alongside moderators and coolers to produce EU while creating nuclear waste.
Before building, understand that reactors generate heat and require active cooling. Use the detailed machine interface to monitor temperature, power output, and fuel consumption in real time. Safety sensors and SCRAM hatches protect your reactor from critical overheating by triggering emergency shutdowns.
If you're a pack maker, KubeJS scripts let you register custom coolers, moderators, and fuel types. Cooling rules are configurable, supporting both additive heat reduction and primary-only draw modes for advanced setups.
