How to Craft Faster with a Pre-Loaded Visual Workbench
The convenience mechanic
The Visual Workbench remembers what you left in its grid. That means you can pre-load the ingredients for a recipe once, then craft repeatedly by just taking the output and refilling only the slots that were consumed — instead of dragging every ingredient in from scratch each time.
Setting up a repeat-crafting station
1. Place the Visual Workbench near the chests that hold your ingredients.
2. Open it and lay out the full recipe in the grid.
3. Take the crafted result from the output slot. The consumed ingredients disappear from their slots, but the ones not used in that craft stay where they are.
4. Refill only the emptied slots from your inventory or a nearby chest.
5. Close and reopen the interface as needed — the layout persists between openings, so you never rebuild the pattern.
When this helps most
This is ideal for recipes you craft in bulk: planks, sticks, torches, bread, or any shaped recipe with a fixed pattern. Keep one Visual Workbench dedicated to each common recipe so you do not have to rearrange slots. Because the grid contents are visible on the block, you can tell at a glance which station is set up for which recipe without opening each one.
