How to Power and Refuel Viescraft Machines
Understanding Power Types
Viescraft machines run on either durability or energy, depending on the Instruction Kit used during construction. Durability-based machines wear down as they operate and need repair. Energy-based machines consume stored power and need recharging. You cannot mix the two — a machine built with a durability kit will never accept energy, and vice versa.
Recharging and Repairing
For energy machines, craft a Machine Battery and place it in the machine's inventory slot. The battery drains as the machine runs. When empty, remove it and recharge it at a
Machine Workbench or replace it with a fresh one.
Small Service Kit (Energy) restores a modest amount of charge,
Large Service Kit (Energy) restores more, and
Max Service Kit (Energy) fills it completely. For durability machines, use the matching Service Kits (Durability) in the same size tiers. Right-click the machine with the kit in hand to apply it. The kit is consumed on use.
Monitoring and Maintenance
Watch for smoke particles or slowing movement — these indicate low power or durability. Carry spare batteries or service kits whenever you travel far from base. The
Dismounter (Player) lets you retrieve a deployed machine without destroying it, preserving its remaining charge or durability. Store idle machines with their batteries removed to avoid slow drain if your mod version includes passive consumption.
