How to Deal with Freezing from Gelid Zombies
Recognizing Gelid Zombies
Gelid zombies are the frozen variant found in cold biomes like snowy plains, frozen peaks, and similar areas. They're visually covered in ice and inflict the freezing effect when they hit you.
Freezing Effect Mechanics
When a Gelid zombie attacks, it applies a freezing status effect. This slows your movement and can be dangerous in combat, especially if you're near cliffs or in confined spaces where mobility matters.
Counterplay
Carry milk buckets to instantly remove the freezing effect. Drink milk whenever you're frozen to restore full mobility. Unlike poison, freezing doesn't directly damage you, but the reduced speed makes you vulnerable to follow-up attacks.
Combat Tips
Keep distance from Gelids when possible—they're melee attackers, so ranged weapons give you an advantage. If you must engage close-range, have milk ready before the fight starts. In trial chambers, Gelids become more dangerous due to environmental hazards, so clear space before engaging.
Consider bringing extra milk if you're exploring multiple cold biome dungeons in succession.
