Survive Your First Night on the Grid

Gather Starter Materials Immediately

When you spawn, you'll be standing on a single floating block in complete isolation. Your first priority is to collect wood, dirt, and stone before nightfall. Look around the grid in all directions—nearby blocks should be visible. Jump carefully to adjacent grid points and harvest any trees, dirt blocks, or stone you find. Avoid jumping toward blocks you can't clearly see; a miscalculation means falling into the void.

Build a Safe Platform

Once you have basic materials, craft wooden planks and sticks. Build a small enclosed platform around your spawn block using dirt or wood—at least 3×3 blocks. This creates a safe zone where mobs cannot spawn and you won't accidentally step into the void during darkness. Craft a crafting table and furnace if you gathered enough resources.

Light Your Area

If you found coal or can smelt charcoal from wood, craft torches immediately. Place them around your platform to prevent hostile mob spawning. Without light, mobs will spawn on your platform at night, and fighting them risks knocking you into the void. Stay inside your enclosed shelter until dawn if you lack adequate lighting.
