Optimize Performance While Using Vanilla Mashup
Why Performance Matters
Vanilla Mashup's PBR textures and connected textures add visual richness but can impact frame rates, especially with shaders enabled.
Optimization Steps
1. Disable unnecessary shader features: reduce shadow distance, lower reflection quality, or disable ambient occlusion if performance dips.
2. Lower render distance if playing on lower-end hardware—this has the biggest impact on frame rate.
3. Use a lightweight shader pack instead of heavy ones. Complementary Unbound (Lite) or BSL (Low) offer good visuals with less overhead.
4. Disable PBR if needed: Vanilla Mashup still looks excellent without shaders, maintaining its refined vanilla style.
5. Monitor your frame rate using F3 (Debug Screen) and adjust settings until you reach your target FPS.
Resource Pack Settings
Some resource packs include built-in options. Check the pack's settings menu for toggles that reduce texture complexity or disable certain overlays.
Hardware Considerations
If you have an older GPU, prioritize lower render distance and simpler shaders over texture quality—the pack will still enhance your game significantly.
