Enable PBR Effects to See Reflections and Enhanced Surfaces

Prerequisites

PBR (Physically Based Rendering) effects require a compatible shader pack. Vanilla Mashup's PBR textures won't display their full visual potential without one.

Installation Steps

1. Obtain a shader pack that supports PBR rendering. Popular options include Complementary, BSL, and Continuum.

2. Load the shader pack through your Minecraft launcher's shader settings or mod menu, depending on your setup.

3. Launch the world with both Vanilla Mashup and your shader pack active.

4. Observe the difference: wood will appear reflective, pumpkins will show subsurface scattering (light glowing through them), and stone surfaces will have realistic depth and detail.

Troubleshooting

If effects don't appear:

  • Verify your shader pack is actually loaded (check in-game settings).
  • Ensure your graphics card supports PBR rendering.
  • Try a different shader pack to confirm compatibility.
  • Check that resource pack load order places Vanilla Mashup above conflicting packs.

Performance Note

PBR rendering is more demanding than vanilla. If you experience lag, lower shader settings or switch to a lighter shader pack.
