Understand Quirk Abilities and Special Attacks
How Quirks Work
Each quirk grants you unique abilities—special attacks, mobility moves, and power toggles. These aren't passive; you must actively use them in combat. Your quirk's strength scales with your level, so higher levels unlock more powerful versions of your abilities.
Using Your Quirk in Combat
Activate abilities using keybinds (typically configurable in your controls menu). Most quirks have:
- Basic attacks — your standard damage output
- Special moves — high-impact abilities with longer cooldowns
- Mobility options — movement quirks like Jet or Gale Gale for repositioning
- Toggles — sustained effects you can turn on/off (like Engine's continuous boost)
Managing Cooldowns
Abilities have cooldown timers between uses. If MhaCooldowns is disabled, you can spam abilities freely. Otherwise, plan your ability rotation carefully. The MhaCooldownScaling setting affects how long cooldowns last when using empowered forms.
Use /cooldownreset <target> to instantly reset all active ability cooldowns (admin command). Learn your quirk's full moveset by testing abilities in safe environments before engaging dangerous mobs or players.
