Keeping Valhelsia Core Updated Without Breaking Your Modpack
Why Version Alignment Matters
Valhelsia Core is shared by multiple mods, so changing its version can affect all of them at once. Updating it blindly can break a dependent mod that expects an older range, while leaving it outdated can block a mod that needs a newer one.
A Safe Update Routine
1. Before changing anything, note which Valhelsia mods you run and the Core version range each one requires.
2. Choose a Core version that sits inside every required range. If none exists, the dependent mods themselves are out of sync and must be updated together.
3. Replace the old Core file with the new one, ensuring only a single copy remains in the mods folder.
4. Keep the Minecraft version and mod loader identical to what your dependents use.
5. Launch and check the mod list for dependency errors before loading a world.
If Something Breaks
Revert to the previous Core version and confirm the game loads again. That tells you the new version fell outside a dependent mod's accepted range. Then update the dependent mod to a release that accepts the newer Core, or stay on the older Core until you can update everything as a set. Always back up your world and mods folder before swapping library versions, since a failed dependency load can prevent the game from starting at all.
