How to Place and Retrieve a Backpack as a Storage Block

Place Your Backpack

While holding a backpack in your hand (not wearing it), right-click on the ground where you want to set up temporary storage. The backpack will convert into a block that you can access like a chest.

Access the Stored Items

Right-click the placed backpack block to open its inventory. You can now deposit or withdraw items just as you would with a regular chest. This is useful for creating supply caches at your base or along travel routes.

Pick It Back Up

When you're ready to move on, hold Shift and right-click the placed backpack. It will return to your hands as a wearable item. You can then carry it to your next location or equip it again.

Benefits of Placement

Placing backpacks as blocks lets you organize multiple storage points without filling your inventory. You can leave one at your base, one at a mining site, and carry one with you—all holding different categories of items for easy management.
