How to Craft Your First Backpack

Gather Your Materials

Before you can craft a backpack, you'll need to collect the base ingredients. You'll need leather (from cows or hoglins), wool (from sheep), wood planks (from any logs), and a chest (crafted from planks in a 2×2 pattern).

Craft the Tiny Backpack

Arrange these materials in your crafting grid according to the Tiny tier recipe. This is your entry-level backpack with 45 slots of storage. Once crafted, you'll have a wearable pack ready to equip.

Equip and Test

Place the backpack into your chest armor slot. You should see it appear on your character's back. Press B to open the backpack inventory and verify it's working. You can now carry it with you as you explore.

Plan Your Upgrades

As you gather more resources, you can craft higher-tier backpacks (Small, Medium, and Large) using the same upgrade recipe path with additional leather, wool, planks, and chests. Each tier provides more storage slots than the last.
