How to Store Items in a Boat with a Shulker Box

Crafting the Boat

Utilitix adds a shulker-box variant for every vanilla boat type (oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, bamboo raft). The recipe combines a normal boat of that wood with a shulker box. Once crafted, the boat looks like a regular boat but carries a shulker box on the back.

Using It

Place the boat on water and right-click to board. The shulker box rides with you, so you can paddle across an ocean while hauling a full inventory of loot. To access the storage, dismount and right-click the shulker box portion of the boat — it opens the same 27-slot interface as a normal shulker box. Break the boat with an axe or by punching it to recover both the boat and its contents.

Practical Tips

• The shulker box keeps its items when the boat is broken, so it doubles as a portable chest for long voyages.
• Use it on rivers and coastlines to move bulk goods between bases without shuttling back and forth.
• Combine with a hopper minecart or Ender Cart for automated sorting setups at your dock.
