Baking in a Furnace

Place your unbaked cake or pie in a furnace along with fuel (coal, wood, etc.). Smelt it until the progress bar completes. The result is a finished, edible cake or pie ready to eat.

Eating and Benefits

Right-click to eat your cake or pie. These foods restore a significant amount of hunger and may provide additional effects. Pies with fruit fillings often restore more hunger than basic cakes. Store extras in chests for later consumption during exploration or combat.
