Getting Started with Monster Hunting

Begin Your Hunt

Start by exploring different biomes like swamps, jungles, and snowy plains to find monsters. Early mini-bosses like Great Jagras and Great Girros are good targets to test your skills and gather initial materials.

Defeat monsters to collect their parts—scales, fangs, and other drops—which you'll need to craft weapons and armor. Each piece of gear grants unique benefits, such as fire immunity or mud protection, tailored to help you face tougher enemies.

Consider taming Felyne pets using Tropical Fish. These companions harvest rare materials from the ground, speeding up your progression. As you grow stronger, hunt larger beasts like Anjanath and Rathalos in old pine forests, and watch for enraged monsters like Zinogre that become significantly more dangerous. Explore monster nests for extra loot and additional combat challenges.
