Navigate the Underground Desert and Collect Fossils

Finding the Underground Desert

The Underground Desert generates beneath surface deserts and arid biomes. Dig down and look for sand, sandstone, and quicksand blocks. The terrain is expansive and open compared to other underground biomes.

Avoiding Hazards

Quicksand is the primary environmental threat—it pulls you downward and can trap you. Move carefully and avoid sinking too deep. Ashans shoot blindness arrows from range, so keep moving and use shields or dodge their fire. Husks are standard desert undead with standard melee attacks.

Searching for Fossils

Fossils are scattered throughout the Underground Desert and contain valuable loot, including diamond ore. Mine fossils carefully with a pickaxe. The diamond ore found in fossils is a significant resource advantage compared to surface mining.

Combat Strategy

Bring ranged weapons to counter Ashans before they blind you. Bring healing items since blindness makes navigation difficult. Prioritize fossil locations over mob combat—the loot is the real reward in this biome.
