How to Read Floating Damage and Healing Numbers in Combat
What the Numbers Mean
When you hit a mob, TslatEntityStatus spawns a floating number showing damage dealt. Healing shows similarly when a mob regenerates or is healed. These pop above the entity and fade, letting you judge your DPS without watching a health bar.
Using Them in PvP
On supported versions, damage particles are team-colored, so in multiplayer you can tell at a glance whose hits are landing. If you fight alongside teammates, this clarifies friendly versus enemy damage. If colors are hard to distinguish, adjust the particle color and style options in the config.
Tuning the Display
1. Open the config and find the damage particle section.
2. Change color and style to something readable against your usual terrain.
3. If numbers overlap during fast hits, reduce their lifetime or size.
4. Disable healing numbers if you only care about outgoing damage.
Practical Notes
Numbers only appear for entities the mod is tracking. Invisible mobs show nothing, so a sudden lack of damage numbers can hint that something is hidden nearby. Combine the numbers with the health bar to confirm kills.
