How to Use Fir Signs, Hanging Signs, and Shelves for Base Decoration

Traverse's fir wood set includes signs, hanging signs, and shelves, which are handy for organizing and labeling a base. Here's how to put them to work.

Crafting the Sign Family

Fir Signs craft from Fir Planks and sticks in the standard sign recipe. Fir Hanging Signs require a different recipe involving chains, similar to vanilla hanging signs. Both let you write text, and both match fir wood so they blend into fir builds.

Labeling Your Storage

Place Fir Signs above chests or on the front of storage rooms to mark what's inside. Use Hanging Signs under a ceiling or on a wall for a more decorative label, like naming a room or marking a doorway. Because they're wood-matched, they look clean against fir plank walls.

Using Fir Shelves

Fir Shelves are display blocks. Place them on walls and put items on them to show off trophies, potions, or decorative pieces. They're great in a workshop for holding tools, or in a kitchen area for showing off food.

Decoration Ideas

  • Hang a Fir Hanging Sign over your base entrance with the base name.
  • Line a hallway with Fir Shelves holding lanterns or flowers.
  • Put Fir Signs on each chest in a storage room so you can find things fast.
  • Use Fir Signs as trail markers when exploring, since they match the wood you're already carrying.
