How to Build with Fir Wood: Full Block and Decoration Guide
Fir wood in Traverse comes in a full family of building blocks, so you can construct an entire base in a single matching style. Here's how to get the most out of it.
The Core Blocks
Start by crafting
Fir Planks from Fir Logs. From planks you get the standard set:
Fir Stairs,
Fir Slab,
Fir Fence,
Fir Fence Gate,
Fir Door,
Fir Trapdoor,
Fir Button,
Fir Pressure Plate, and
Fir Sign. You also get Fir Wood (bark on all sides) and
Stripped Fir Log and
Stripped Fir Wood for cleaner textures. Fir Hanging Signs and Fir Shelves are also available for detail work.
Building Tips
- Use Stripped Fir Logs as pillars or beams; their clean texture reads well as structural framing.
- Mix Fir Planks with Fir Wood to create contrast between walls and corners.
- Fir Slabs and Stairs let you build roofs, awnings, and pathways that match the rest of the build.
- Fir Fence Gates work well for garden entrances and animal pens.
- Fir Shelves are useful for displaying items in a workshop or storage room.
A Simple Fir Cabin
Frame the corners with Stripped Fir Logs, fill walls with Fir Planks, add a Fir Door and Fir Trapdoor windows, and roof it with Fir Stairs and Slabs. Use Fir Fence for a porch railing. Because every piece matches, the result looks intentional rather than cobbled together from mixed woods.
