Configuring the Traveler's Compass Options

The mod exposes configuration that changes how the compass behaves. If the default behaviour does not suit you, these are the settings worth checking.

Where the config lives

Configuration is handled through the mod's config file, which is generated the first time you run the game with the mod installed. You can edit it directly, or use an in-game config menu if your mod loader provides one. Changes usually require a game restart or a config reload to take effect.

What you can typically adjust

  • Which targets appear in the selection list, so you can hide structure or biome types you never use and shorten the menu.
  • Whether the compass points to the nearest instance of a target or simply gives a direction.
  • Display options for the compass, such as whether it shows extra information while held.

Practical advice

  • Change one option at a time and test in a fresh world before applying it to a long-running save.
  • If a target type you expect is missing from the list, check the config — it may be disabled there rather than unsupported.
  • On a server, the config is usually controlled by the server side, so ask your admin if your singleplayer settings do not carry over.

Keep a backup of the config file before editing, so you can restore defaults if something behaves unexpectedly.
