If a throwable torch lands in water, on invalid surfaces, or in a location where it can't place, it drops as an item. You can pick it up and throw it again. This makes the mod resource-efficient since failed throws aren't wasted.

Managing Your Torch Supply

Collect dropped torches and keep them in your inventory for reuse. If you're exploring and find yourself with excess torches, you can combine pairs back into throwable torches using the crafting recipe. This helps manage inventory space during long expeditions.

Since throwable torches are made from regular torches at a 2:1 ratio, consider carrying both types. Regular torches can be placed manually for precise lighting, while throwable torches handle quick area illumination. This hybrid approach gives you flexibility in different situations—rapid cave exploration versus careful base construction.
