Light Up a Cave System Efficiently
Preparing for Spelunking
Before descending into a cave, craft a stack of throwable torches. Since two regular torches make one
throwable torch, gather torches in pairs. Having a large supply ensures you won't run out of light mid-exploration.
Lighting as You Explore
As you move through the cave, throw torches ahead and to the sides to illuminate your path. The auto-placement feature means torches stick to walls and ceilings automatically, creating a lit trail back to the entrance. This is faster than stopping to place torches manually and lets you maintain momentum while exploring.
Throw torches onto high ceilings and upper walls to maximize light coverage without cluttering the floor. The projectile arc lets you reach difficult spots. If you need to backtrack, your torch trail guides you safely. This method is especially effective in branching cave systems where multiple paths need lighting.
