See Mining Level Names in Tool Tooltips

Viewing Level Information

When you hover over or inspect any pickaxe in your inventory, the tooltip automatically displays the mining level name alongside other tool stats. This makes it easy to compare tools at a glance without needing to check blocks.

Why This Matters

The mining level name (not just a number) helps you understand progression intuitively. Instead of memorizing that "level 2" means iron-tier, the tooltip tells you directly. This is especially useful in modpacks where custom progression has been defined.

Checking Your Current Tool

1. Open your inventory

2. Hover over the pickaxe you're holding

3. Read the tooltip—it shows the mining level name

4. Compare this to blocks you encounter using Waila

5. If the block's required level is higher, you need a better tool

This feature eliminates confusion and helps you plan your next tool upgrade without trial and error.
