Making Paintings Work in an Existing World

No New World Required

The mod is designed to drop into worlds you already play. You do not need to regenerate terrain or start fresh — the new artworks become available the moment the mod is loaded.

Steps to Add Art to an Old Build

1. Load your existing world with the mod active. Existing paintings already on your walls stay as they are.

2. Go to the build where you want new art and clear the wall space you intend to use.

3. Craft or grab paintings and place them as normal. The expanded pool is now in effect.

4. If a wall already has a vanilla painting you dislike, break it and re-place to roll from the new combined pool.

Things to Watch For

  • Removing the mod later will leave any mod-only paintings as missing or placeholder art, so avoid using them in builds you might load without the mod.
  • Chunk loading and world size are unaffected; paintings are lightweight entities.
  • On servers, every client and the server need the mod for the new art to render correctly for everyone.

Organizing a Gallery

Group paintings by wall size so placement is predictable, and leave generous empty rectangles. This makes it far easier to cycle for a specific masterpiece without the game shrinking your canvas.
