How to Place a Painting from the Mod on Your Wall

Getting the Painting in Hand

Craft or obtain a painting item the same way you would in vanilla — the mod does not add a separate painting item. Any painting you place will now draw from the expanded pool that includes the mod's artwork alongside the vanilla set. Once you have a painting in your inventory, you are ready to hang it.

Choosing and Placing the Artwork

1. Build a flat wall of solid blocks. Paintings need a solid backing and enough empty space in front of them.

2. Hold the painting and right-click the wall. The game picks an artwork based on the available space — larger paintings need a bigger empty rectangle.

3. If you get a piece you do not want, break the painting and replace it. Placement is randomized, so repeated placement cycles through the pool.

4. To force a larger canvas, clear a wider and taller area of air in front of the wall before placing. The mod's bigger masterpieces only appear when the space allows.

Tips for Consistent Results

  • Place paintings on a wall with no torches, item frames, or other blocks in the way, or the game may shrink the available size.
  • If you want a specific famous piece, keep breaking and replacing until it appears, or use a creative-mode inventory to browse and pick directly.
  • Paintings are decorative and non-solid, so you can walk through them — useful for hidden-door builds.
