Building a Painting Gallery Wall with the Mod
Planning the Wall
Before placing anything, decide the sizes you want. The mod mixes small, medium, and large canvases, and each needs a matching empty rectangle. Sketch your layout on paper or with temporary blocks so you know which slots are for big pieces and which are for small ones.
Step-by-Step Gallery Build
1. Build a solid wall of a neutral block — stone bricks, deepslate, or stripped logs work well as a backdrop.
2. Mark out rectangular zones of empty air in front of the wall, one per painting. Leave at least one block of gap between zones so paintings do not visually crowd.
3. Place a painting in each zone. If the size is wrong, break it and re-place until it fits the zone.
4. Add lighting below or above the wall, not in front of it, so it does not block placement.
5. Use item frames or signs beneath each piece if you want to label artists like Van Gogh or da Vinci.
Keeping It Tidy
- Standardize zone sizes — for example, all large pieces on the top row and small ones below — so the gallery reads cleanly.
- Avoid placing torches, levers, or buttons inside a zone; they reduce the available rectangle and force smaller art.
- If you want a curated look, build in creative mode first to preview each piece, then replicate the layout in survival.
