Identify Your Challenge
Different tonics solve specific problems: 
Flame Tonic grants Fire Resistance for lava and Nether exploration; Spelunker's Tonic provides Night Vision and Glowing for dark caves; 
Void Tonic offers Levitation and Slow Falling for void or fall damage scenarios.
Craft the Right Tonic
All special tonics require a 
Refined Herb Blend as their base—a stronger blend made from Herb Flowers and paper that restores 4 hearts and applies Regeneration II. Farm Herb Flowers by breaking wild herbs repeatedly or trade with villagers for faster supply.
Stock Before Expeditions
Brew multiple tonics of your chosen type before heading out. Each tonic lasts 20–30 seconds for regeneration and 1 minute for buffs, so plan accordingly for longer journeys.
Caution with 
Ancient Tonic
The Ancient Tonic applies Weakness II and grants Bad Omen for an extended duration—avoid using it unless you understand the consequences.
