Display a Hexadecimal Value on a Two Digit Display Module
Setting Up the Display
The Two Digit
Display Module shows the lower 8 bits of any value it receives, rendered as two hexadecimal digits (00–FF). This is useful for monitoring small numeric values or debugging TIS-3D programs.
Connection Steps
1. Place the Two Digit Display Module into an available slot on your TIS-3D computer.
2. Connect an output port from your program logic to the display module's input port using redstone cables or fiber optic cables.
3. Send numeric values to the display module from your TIS-3D code. Only the lower 8 bits will be shown.
4. The display will update whenever a new value is written to it.
Example Use Cases
- Monitor loop counters or iteration counts in your program
- Display sensor readings or memory values in a compact format
- Debug multi-byte values by isolating and viewing their lower byte
- Create status indicators where different hex values represent different states
The hexadecimal format makes it easy to see bit patterns and perform bitwise operations visually. If you need to display larger values, consider using multiple display modules or reading different byte ranges from your data.
