Lock Inventory Slots to Protect Important Items

Understanding Slot Locking

Slot locking prevents specific inventory positions from being moved during automatic transfers. This protects tools, armor, or rare items from being dumped into storage when you use the D button or restock features.

Lock a Slot

Open your player inventory. Hold Alt and left-click on any slot you want to protect. A visual indicator (usually a lock icon or highlight) will appear on that slot, showing it's now locked.

Manage Multiple Locks

Repeat the Alt+left-click process on as many slots as needed. Common strategies:

  • Hotbar protection: Lock your sword, pickaxe, and healing items in the hotbar
  • Armor slots: Protect equipped armor from accidental swaps
  • Crafting materials: Lock slots holding rare ingredients you're actively using

Unlock Slots

Alt+left-click a locked slot again to toggle it back to unlocked. You can lock and unlock slots at any time without opening settings.

Locked slots are ignored by quick-stack, restock, and dump operations, keeping your most important gear safe during inventory management.
