Set Up a Rain Water Collection System

Gather Materials

You'll need a Rain Collector block, a container (glass bottle, bucket, or cup), and a location with clear sky access. Canteens also work if you already have one.

Installation and Use

Place the Rain Collector block in an open area where it has an unobstructed view of the sky—avoid placing it under trees, overhangs, or roofs. The block will not function if the sky is blocked.

Place your empty container in the bottom slot of the Rain Collector. During rain, water will slowly fill the container. The water collected this way is clean and safe to drink immediately without risk of poisoning.

Storage and Refilling

Once your container is full, remove it and store it in your inventory or chest for later use during dry periods. You can also use the Rain Collector to refill Canteens when it rains. This system is ideal for early-game hydration since it requires no fuel or crafting—just patience and rain.
