How to Get Proper Recoil in Third-Person Shoulder View
Why Recoil Feels Wrong in Third-Person
In vanilla third-person, gun recoil often doesn't translate correctly because the camera and the weapon are handled separately. This mod fixes that for Shoulder Surfing version 4.x by making recoil apply properly while you're in shoulder view. The result is that firing a gun kicks the camera the way you'd expect, matching the feel of first-person shooting.
Steps to Confirm Recoil Works
1. Make sure you're running Shoulder Surfing 4.x, since the recoil fix targets that version specifically.
2. Enter shoulder view and equip a TAC gun.
3. Aim down sights and fire a burst.
4. Watch the camera — it should kick upward or backward with each shot instead of staying flat.
If recoil still feels absent, you may be on Shoulder Surfing 5.x, where the recoil handling differs. In that case, rely on the mod's aiming and zoom support rather than expecting the same recoil behavior. Also check that no other mod is intercepting camera movement, as that can cancel out the recoil effect entirely.
