Finding and Growing Melons

Use a Sniffer to dig up ancient melon vine seedlings from dirt and grass blocks. Place seedlings on the underside of ceiling blocks—they'll attach and grow downward into giant melon blocks. Speed up growth by using bone meal on the vines.

Once fully grown, break the melon block with a tool to harvest melon slices and stems. Melon slices restore hunger when eaten. Stems burn as furnace fuel for cooking and smelting.

Melon blocks work like wooden planks for crafting and building. Combine melon slices with gold ingots to create Golden Winter Melons. You can also craft melon slices into candles for decorative lighting that provides speed and strength boosts when lit. Slime jelly blocks let you bounce like vanilla slime blocks.
